Millwright Mechanic

Position Overview:

Quality Welding Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Plant Maintenance Worker. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of plant maintenance experience.

 

Job Functions and Qualifications:

  • Perform equipment maintenance on various types of mechanical equipment, including belt conveyors, bucket elevators, drag chains, grain cleaners, screw conveyors, etc.

  • Show familiarity with different types of bearings and setting tolerances and taper locks

  • Perform rigging and hoisting to properly move materials via the use of cranes and/or hand signaling to an operator

  • Perform and demonstrate the ability to complete work using safe work practices

  • OSHA 10-hour or equivalent training

  • Capable of performing welding (SMAW) work and using a torch

  • Ability to fabricate misc. steel brackets

  • Plant and preventive maintenance experience

  • Industrial construction experience

  • Ability to perform belt splicing and maintenance for conveyors and bucket elevators

 

Essential Functions:

•            Must be able to work in shop environment (inside and outside), able to sit, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, walk, and use fingers to feel objects, tools, and controls.

•       Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds

•       Hours for position are dictated by workload and may require more than a typical 40-hour week.

Pipe Welder

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

Candidates should own their own hand tools and have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with process pipe.

  • Fabricate and install piping systems by measuring, cutting, bending, shaping, threading, soldering and gluing using hand tools and equipment

  • Read and interpret blueprints, process flow diagrams, sketches and product specifications

  • Generate materials lists by selecting types and sizes of pipes, supports and related materials according to job specifications, drawings or isometrics

  • Must be capable of passing ASME, Section IX weld test on a 2-inch schedule 160 carbon steel pipe in 6G position using (SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW) welding process

  • Complete work using safe work practices

Other preferred qualifications sought include:

  • OSHA 10-hour or equivalent training

  • Industrial construction experience

  • Familiarity with AWS, ASME and other welding codes and practices

  • Ability to travel, requiring staying out of town for multiple weeks at a time

Fabricator/ Welder

Position Overview:

 

Joins, Fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Fabricates parts and adjusts prefabricated parts to ensure proper fit. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Works with and without complete engineering drawings as necessary.

 

Job Functions and Qualifications:

 

•   Use MIG, Stick and TIG welding techniques to join metal.

•   Join prefabricated pieces using proper welding techniques to meet job specifications

•   Fabricate and adjust pieces as necessary

•   Understanding of basic metallurgy to allow for proper prep and finish of welded metals

•   Preheat objects as necessary

•   Use measurement and math skill to ensure quality of precision of projects

•   Use forklifts/overhead cranes and other lifting/moving devices to maneuver projects

•   Use grinder to properly finish materials

•   Communication with Shop Foreman/Engineers and Project Managers

•   Other tasks as assigned/required.

Education/Experience:

•   Previous experience and certifications are preferred

•   High school graduate or equivalent
